Breccia Medicea Marble , also known as Calacatta Viola Marble, is a prestigious ornamental marble extracted in the heart of historical Versilia, particularly in the municipalities of Seravezza (from which it takes its name) and Stazzema. This historical stone of Apuan origins has been widely used, especially since the Renaissance period in Tuscany, for constructing columns, wall and floor slabs, and ornamental elements. The name Breccia Medicea Marble was attributed to it due to the wide use made of it by the de' Medici family and, in particular, by Cosimo I de Medici, who owned the exclusive right of use on the quarries of Seravezza: some critical examples of the application of the Breccia Medicea marble within Florentine architectural works are the choir in the Florence Cathedral, the obelisks in Piazza Santa Maria Novella or the fountain of Neptune in Piazza della Signoria.
The clasts within it are primarily calcitic. The cement contains various elements, including chlorite, hematite (from which its dark red and purplish color derives), and carbonaceous substances (hence the black tones).
We now come to the color of Breccia Medicea: the surface of the Breccia Medicea marble slabs, tiles, countertops at KA UNITED Factory, is characterized by purple and pearly pink shades, by dense light green and greyish veins, and by clasts or pebbles of variable size and color (shades of gray, walnut, dark red and yellow). The final result is a highly heterogeneous, sophisticated stone surface with a strong visual impact.

Quality Grade
We classify it into three grades:
Grade A: few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with a width of less than 2 mm per piece;
Grade B: a few pink hair lines & 1-3 crystal lines with width between 2 and 5 mm per piece;
Grade C: a few pink hair lines & some crystal lines with all different widths.
So the qualities will be like these:
1st choice: all grade A pieces; some pieces may not have pink hair lines but typically have crystal lines;
commercial choice ... with both grade A & grade B;
Low quality, with different attributes mainly for the Mid-East market, certainly will have some bad pieces not accepted.

Professional Inspection
Before packing, our inspector will inspect all the goods' surface finish, thickness, and edge finish to see if they meet the customers' requirements, one piece by piece. 
If the countertop needs to be seamed, we will also put the seamed tops together to make sure the color and thickness are the same.


Loading
Experienced and professional workers will load the crates carefully to ensure the goods won't easily broken. 
After loading, fumigated wooden bundles will be braced between each crate to strengthen stability.
